Deadman - Mortal Coil

I can get so busy that I forget to take care of the things around me – make my bed, fold the clean clothes or wash the morning dishes. I get so involved at work that my creativity is drained, and I am mentally spiritually and physically tired. All that stress can cause illness - mentally spiritually and physically. The Tao Te Ching suggests that an opened mouth busy with activities and manipulations will increase the journey, but a slow less hectic and peaceful life will slow the journey. I seek to be less involved and less stressed. I want a slow comfortable life. A life that I can enjoy at a slow pace.

Mortal Coil

“I see you finally shuffled off this mortal coil Batman?” -  Deadman *

Boston Brand was a talent circus acrobat and trapeze artist. He would perform under the stage name of “Deadman”, because of his thrilling performances. He would wear a flamboyant costume of red and his make-up was white to resemble a ghost. Unfortunately, the circus was used to smuggle “Snow” or drugs into the country. Boston Brand was murdered by a villain codenamed the “Hook” to keep the smuggling business going. However, the goddess Rama-Kushna (after the Hindu Goddess Rama-Krishna) takes pity on Boston Brand and offers him the opportunity to solve his murder and become a force of good. He is a weight in the scales of good and evil. However, Boston Brand is now a ghost. Keeping his Deadman persona, Boston can fully possess people. The only time he can be seen or communicate with the living is when he possesses someone. Deadman travels the earthly and astral plains seeking to help others pass on – leaving this “mortal coil.”

Just face it; we are all going to die. Today let us look at life instead. Life is a journey, it is important to look at how we live. In her book “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, Rebecca Wells wrote, “I want light baggage when I decide to blow this joint.” Do we spend our time collecting people, places and things or do we stop and smell the roses? The most important thing to remember is how we live our lives. Do we want to live peacefully, or do we want to live hectically? We all want to live slowly and comfortably with less stress. So, look for ways to live life fully but at a slow pace.
